About
The Central Children's Store on Lubyanka Square has been the country's major department store for kids since 1957. You are sure to find what you need in one of the almost 100 stores featuring Russian and foreign brands of toys, goods for newborns, clothes and shoes for children, teenagers and expectant mothers, accessories, cosmetics, medicines, fabrics for your nursery, books, stationery, equipment for hobbies, sweets, snacks and electronics as well.
If you count the basement, the building has seven floors. On the bottom and the top two floors you can find entertainment and catering venues. The roof of the Central Children’s Store serves as a viewing platform from which you can enjoy a panorama of the capital. You can wrap your purchase as a gift, and buy balloons, on the first floor in the main atrium to the right of the Fairy Tale Gallery.
The interior decoration of the Central Children’s Store, and the decoration of the shop windows, that look like works of art, help to create a fairy-tale atmosphere. It’s particularly effective in the winter months when Christmas cheer abounds.
InnoPark
InnoPark is an interactive science museum located on the fourth floor that explains how the world around us works. There are dozens of exhibits that explore and explain physical laws, and natural phenomena. In InnoPark, you can conduct fascinating experiments and make incredible discoveries. Children will be wowed by a Tesla Coil, Van de Graaff generator, kegel gun, dynamometer, interactive Mendeleev tables, and so much more. Visitors will have an unforgettable day full of games, educational workshops and creativity! The time spent in Innopark will be remembered by both children and their parents.
KidBurg
On the fifth floor, young guests can go to KidBurg, a children's city of professions, where they can find out about more than 70 different adult jobs, and develop important social skills through theatrical events. A courageous fireman or a brave policeman, a successful banker or a talented hairdresser - which path will your child choose? Perhaps, they will want to learn how to cook and become a chef, or travel to the future and try their hand at cutting-edge professions, such as laparoscopic surgeon or robot creation. KidBurg is the city of professions of the future, and there are no limits!
The Museum of Childhood
The Museum of Childhood is located on the seventh floor. Its exhibitions include more than 1,500 items once sold in the Children’s World department store. The museum is built on contrasts: modern technology helps to discover the past.
You can also take in the 3D light show and travel back in time to the department store of the 1950-1980s, learning the history of Soviet toys that connect multiple generations.
