Sports activities in Moscow

Summer is the best time for outdoor activities, and Moscow is full of opportunities for just that!

Go for a bike ride along Moskva river, go out for a morning walkathon or jog in a nearby public garden, join in the excitement of volleyball and ping-pong battles in Gorky Park, and show off your skills on the nearest ramp or rink! Try cycling in Moscow parks: they organize group “races” on cycling simulators, imitating races with obstacles, all to the beat of a DJ!

You can go on a forest hike — the ecotrail in Serebryany Bor is especially worth it! Or take a trip on SUP boards on the river or ponds. In Luzhniki, you will be welcomed into streetball contests and tournaments. If soccer is your thing, you can join one of the many teams (or form your own) at any of the hundreds of soccer fields throughout Moscow!

Nightlife

According to DJ Smash’s super hit: Moscow never sleeps! And with the capital’s warm summer evenings, this impression is tripled.

Party in the hottest Moscow nightclubs, enjoy theme nights in restaurants, participate in flash mobs on the riverbank and squares, and find your rhythm at dance parties!

Whenever your party ends, you’ll get to your hotel or apartment quickly and comfortably by hailing a cab with just a couple of taps on your phone. Get a good night’s sleep and rest — because in the morning, you will have another day in Moscow full of new experiences!

Gastronomy

Moscow has long been one of the top gastronomic capitals in the world, and the summer of 2024 will be brighter and tastier than ever! Embark on an almost endless gastro-journey, where tiny coffee houses and large panoramic restaurants, farm cheese factories and conceptual bars, exquisite wine cellars and craft breweries await you.

Discover the long-standing traditions of Moscow tea drinking, or join the club of open-air brunch lovers. Marvel at unconventional ideas and luxury service in Michelin restaurants, or join millions of Moscow street food fans. Summer in Moscow will be warm, sunny and very, very tasty!

Enjoy beautiful Moscow parks

When you come to Moscow, you enter the greenest metropolis in the world! Green parks, squares, gardens and estates occupy more than a third of its territory.

These are not just the “green lungs” of the capital. Nature here goes hand in hand with beautiful old buildings, informative museums, fun attractions and outstanding sports infrastructure.

Summer in the world-famous Gorky Park is not only about the thousands of flowers and cozy bean bags under crowns of trees, it is also about the palpable youthful vibe. The Kolomenskoye apple orchards neighbor architectural masterpieces like the Ascension Church, a UNESCO Heritage site. And the unusual flora of Muzeon goes hand in hand with the grandiose “sculpture garden”. Each of the hundreds of parks in Moscow has its own zest and something special to offer!

Summer is the best time to get acquainted with green Moscow! See you in the park!

Open-air cinemas

This summer in Moscow there are many open-air cinemas where you can lounge on cozy bean bags, blankets or benches and watch movies in the fresh air! If it starts to drizzle or it gets cooler in the evening, you will be given a raincoat or extra blanket (but just in case it’s packed, we recommend you to take them with you). You can buy snacks and drinks at cafes and stores nearby.

The lineup depends on the specific movie theater. For example, in “Garage” they emphasize experimental cinema and documentaries, most films are in the original language with subtitles in Russian. In Bauman Garden they’ve got Soviet classics, VDNKh shows fairy tales and cartoons, and Dream Island shows international hits and new releases.

Concerts and festivals

Celebrate summer together with the capital! Concerts and solo performances by talented musicians from around the country, open theater performances, themed festivals, and lively dance parties are waiting for you at hundreds of venues throughout the city. A special bonus: concerts on the rooftops of iconic buildings, without which not a single Moscow summer has been possible for seven years! Jazz, ethnics, rock, tributes to world stars — these will be high-flying musical parties!

Join millions of Muscovites and guests of the city and plunge into the festive atmosphere of the warmest time of the year, which will be historic for Moscow in 2024!

Relax by the water

With beaches and swimming pools, water parks and cozy river streetcars, Moscow turns into a real resort city in the summer!

You can get a tan on the sandy banks of rivers, ponds and reservoirs, take a rapid descent on slides and water attractions, and dive from outdoor pool towers! You can take a dip off a boat, SUP board, or catamaran, not only in specialized clubs (and there are a lot of them in Moscow!), but in practically every park where there is a water body, from Southern Butovo to Northern Medvedkovo.

If you want to relax without breaking away from the water, enjoy a boat trip along Moskva River. Breathtaking views of the capital from an unusual angle, sumptuous cuisine, and a high-end resort feel are guaranteed!
