How to Start Using YooMoney
A Step-by-Step Guide for Tourists

Step 1: Sign Up for an Account
- Follow the link.
- Select your country code and enter your phone number.
- You'll receive a call: enter the last 4 digits of the caller’s number.
- If you don’t get a call, click "Get a new text message code" and enter the code you receive.
If you still haven't received the message, you can: wait a little longer (up to 2 minutes), contact your mobile operator, or reach out to YooMoney support for help. - Create a password (minimum 8 characters, at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one digit).
Step 2: Verify Your Identity
On the website
- Click "Complete identification".
- Choose "Identified: online or at the office", then click "I want this wallet".
- Select your nationality.
- Confirm your email, select your language, and click "Continue".
- Confirm your personal details and enter your address.
Via the App
- Download and open the app.
- Go to Account Management by tapping your wallet number.
- Tap "Upgrade", select "Identified", and click "I want these features".
- Complete the steps: confirm email, select language, and confirm your personal details.
Once completed, you can top up your wallet at any ATM in Russia.
Step 3: Get a Virtual MIR Card
MIR is a Russian national payment system.
On the YooMoney website:
- Follow this link,
- Select "Issue virtual MIR card".
Step 4: Add Virtual Card to YooPay
Visit https://promo.yoomoney.ru/pay/en to link your card.
Payment for purchases
After identification, activation of the card, and replenishment of the wallet, you can immediately pay for purchases in Russia in any convenient way:
- Your Android/iOS phone using QR code,
- Contactless payment by phone using YooPay (available in the YooMoney app for Android only).
Cash withdrawal
You can withdraw cash at any ATM in Russia if you use your YooMoney Pay card via Android.
Withdrawal fee: 3% of the amount (minimum 100 RUB).
