Russia will introduce visa-free entry for citizens of Vietnam from 15 October 2026. The new rules will allow Vietnamese travellers to stay in the country for up to 30 days without obtaining a visa in advance.

The visa-free regime applies to trips for tourism, business, and private visits, as well as participation in scientific, cultural, social, political, economic, and sporting events. It also covers transit through Russia.

Travellers will need a valid Vietnamese passport. The visa exemption does not apply to those travelling to Russia for work or study, including long-term education, or for permanent residence.

The visa-free arrangement will remain in effect until 15 October 2027, according to the presidential decree.
