Awesome Summer

Welcome to a City of Festivals!

Summer in Moscow is when the city turns into a vibrant open-air resort. Festivals spill into streets, boulevards, parks, and historic venues, while terraces, picnic spots, and open-air pools become part of everyday city life. Days are made for walks, sports, and leisurely brunches, and evenings unfold with concerts, river cruises, garden strolls, and skyline dinners. In summer, Moscow moves at the rhythm of a celebration, inviting you to mix culture, outdoor living, and standout seasonal experiences at your own pace.

Summer in Moscow Project

From 30 May to 6 September, Moscow’s flagship seasonal project, Summer in Moscow, returns for 100 days of citywide events, most of them free to attend. Now in its third year, the 2026 programme is devoted to the history, culture, and traditions of the peoples of Russia.

The season unfolds across the city in different ways, so choose your own path and set out to explore summer Moscow. The city’s Moscow Seasons venues will also host a rich programme of events across central locations. Don’t miss them!

Made in Moscow Summer Markets

From 1 June to 6 September, the flagship Made in Moscow venue at Bolotnaya Square returns as one of the season’s liveliest gathering spots, bringing together local brands, a food court, an open-air cinema, a scenic veranda overlooking the main stage, and a dynamic programme of music, talks, workshops, and family-friendly events.

Across the city, themed art pavilions will also appear along popular walking routes, offering everything from fashion, beauty, and homeware to sweets, drinks, souvenirs, and gifts by Moscow brands.

Step Into the 19th Century

This summer, Moscow’s most beautiful city estates and manor houses open their doors for an unforgettable journey into the past. From 30 May to 6 September, the Moscow Estates Festival presents over 500 interactive events — from retro photo studios and 19th‑century dance lessons to traditional lawn games and guided tours in multiple languages. Whether you are a history lover, a culture explorer, or a family looking for unique weekend activities, this festival offers a vivid taste of old-fashioned Moscow.

Moscow Tea Time

Tea sets, ice tea and park pop‑ups

This summer, Moscow Tea Time expands across the city in a variety of formats, from a dedicated seasonal space on Novy Arbat to tea spots in museum-reserves and boulevard buffets near outdoor performance venues. Visitors can also discover Moscow Tea Time tea rooms, seasonal tea sets in restaurants and hotels, and the Moscow Ice Tea festival running from 1 July to 31 August in more than 500 cafés and restaurants. Altogether, it turns one of Moscow’s most elegant traditions into a refreshing part of the city’s warm-weather season.

Open-Air Entertainment

Every summer, Moscow takes culture outdoors, and 2026 brings a particularly rich open-air programme. The IV Zaryadye Moscow Summer Music Festival runs from 6 June to 5 July, while the Moscow Jazz Festival takes over the city from 9 to 15 June with concerts in central squares, the Hermitage Garden, and VDNH. The season also features Theatre Boulevard, bringing performances and street theatre to the city’s boulevards. And from 10 to 14 June, the Times and Epochs Festival transforms Moscow’s boulevards, parks and museums into living history.

The best part? The programme keeps evolving throughout the season. We regularly update our events calendar, with new festivals, performances, and pop-up experiences added all the time — so there’s always a fresh reason to step outside and discover something unexpected.
