Discover Moscow’s Patios and Terraces

In summer, outdoor patios and terraces are the best places to enjoy the warm weather and culinary innovations from Moscow's top chefs. Treat yourself to a morning coffee before strolling around the city or to an evening out with friends.

Here’s a curated list of where to go for the most amazing atmosphere, picturesque views, and excellent food.

Anchovy's Club

This seafood restaurant, conceptually similar to a brasserie, has a lovely interior filled with light, as well as an understated design, open kitchen, large ice display case filled with seafood, and a cosy summer terrace in a green park open during the warm months of the year. It’s a nice spot for a leisurely breakfast or a romantic dinner, for gossiping with friends or arranging a business meeting over lunch. There is absolutely no meat on the menu, even the chebureki are made with crab and shrimp, and you can add langoustines or salmon to your gazpacho. Fans of seafood delicacies will definitely like it here: a great variety of grilled seafood, tuna and salmon tartare, fish soups, salads, and main courses prepared exclusively from aquatic inhabitants will pleasantly surprise guests. The wine list includes more than 40 types of champagne, and the bar offers drinks that pair perfectly with seafood delicacies, as well as beer brewed in-house.

Assunta Madre

An Italian seafood restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine has found its home in the very heart of Moscow, inside a historic mansion that once belonged to the House of Dolgorukov. Wild-caught fish and other seafood delicacies are delivered to the restaurant daily, ensuring that guests are offered only the freshest ingredients and a carefully selected range of drinks to complement each dish. In summer, you can dine on the terrace surrounded by lush greenery and blooming flowers where guests can enjoy a charming view of a quiet square, a monument to Leo Tolstoy, and the Rostov House — part of the very estate where the characters of War and Peace once danced at grand balls. The tables are always decorated with fresh flowers and bowls of lemons, creating an atmosphere that lets you forget you are in the centre of Moscow and imagine you are on a quiet little street somewhere in Italy. There’s no need to worry about unexpected changes in weather: in the evening, heaters keep the terrace warm, while on hot days, a fine, refreshing mist is sprayed from above.

In summer, the restaurant has two outdoor terraces. One, tucked away in a quiet courtyard with seating for 120, offers tranquility and privacy. Mr. Lee

This restaurant offers a true experience of Chinese culture and culinary traditions — that’s the core idea behind the entire establishment. A historic mansion has been transformed into a striking Asian kingdom, both vibrant and mysterious. The dim lighting, shaded windows, silk wallpaper, dark wood, bold red shades, large round tables, folding screens, and rugs create an atmosphere that transports guests straight to the Far East. The kitchen is led by Chef Li Zhang, who serves over 80 dishes from Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, and Singaporean cuisines. On warm days, guests can enjoy these culinary masterpieces not only inside, but also at tables on the open-air terrace, comfortably seated in wicker chairs under large umbrellas.

Pafos

Spread across two floors of the historic Saltykov mansion, this restaurant offers a year-round taste of lovely Greek seaside holidays. The concept combines two ideas: a relaxed coastal brasserie on the first floor — think whitewashed walls like Santorini and azure accents with patterned tiles like Mykonos — and a second-floor space designed like a family villa, with high ceilings, large tables, plush sofas, and colourful details. Each room invites guests on a culinary journey through the ages and regions of Greece, from ancient times to the present day. The focus is on high-quality ingredients and refined interpretations of traditional dishes.

Yug 22

This restaurant on Bolshaya Nikitskaya captures the feeling of endless summer. And that’s no surprise — its concept embraces the entire southern Mediterranean, from Spain to Morocco. The décor doesn’t strictly follow any one country’s style, but hints are everywhere: black-and-white striped vases on the tables, sandy and beige tones throughout, round golden lamps on the walls, and plenty of plants. The menu features dishes from several Mediterranean nations: fresh fish, meat, seafood, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. In summer, small round tables are set outside under a canopy — an inviting street terrace where you can sip cocktails in the evening or start your day with a coffee in the morning sun.
