VDNH opens one of Moscow’s largest ice rinks
A 20,000 m² rink, winter lights, night skating, and festive music — VDNH launches its main winter attraction.

On November 28, VDNH opened its winter season with one of Moscow’s largest and most scenic ice rinks. The rink stretches across more than 20,000 m² along the Central Alley, surrounding the iconic Friendship of Nations and Stone Flower fountains, making it a uniquely Moscow setting for winter skating.
Up to 5,000 visitors can skate here at once, enjoying views of historic pavilions, sparkling lights, and festive decorations. The season includes a rich programme of events: starting December 5, guests can join themed dance evenings on the ice: lively sessions set to upbeat music that help skaters warm up and enjoy the winter atmosphere.
Throughout the holidays, the rink will also host evening DJ sets, night skating sessions, and special performances, making VDNH one of the most vibrant winter locations in the city.
On New Year’s Eve, a large celebration will take place with figure-skating shows, music, and a magical ice ballet.
Nearby cafés, hot-drink stands, and seasonal food stalls allow visitors to warm up between skating sessions. Families can also enjoy festive markets, children’s programmes, and winter activities across the grounds of VDNH.
The rink will operate until early spring as part of the citywide winter programme Winter in Moscow, offering residents and tourists an unforgettable way to experience the season outdoors.
