Vietnam Culture Festival opens in Moscow
From pho to water puppets: explore Vietnam in Moscow

On July 25, the Vietnam Culture Festival opened on Manezhnaya Square as part of the Summer in Moscow citywide program. The event was organized with support from the Government of Moscow and the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Russian Federation.
The festival runs through August 3 and introduces visitors to key elements of Vietnamese culture — from regional cuisine to traditional arts.
Daily programme includes:
- Water puppet theatre performances
- Music and dance shows, including traditional vietnamese martial arts demonstrations
- Culinary workshops and craft sessions
- Food stalls offering pho, spring rolls, Vietnamese coffee, and rice-based sweets (cốm)
- Exhibitions on Vietnamese nature, fashion, and decorative arts
The site includes themed zones for live music, cooking classes, and puppet shows. Visitors can listen to traditional instruments, learn to cook Vietnamese dishes, and watch artisans at work. In the pavilions, guests will find Dong Ho prints, lacquerware, decorated conical hats, and workshops on rice dough toys.
Three exhibitions are on display:
- Hanoi and 12 Seasons of Flowers — a collection of ao dai by designer Vu Viet Ha
- Vietnamese Lacquer Art — contemporary works rooted in traditional craft
- Vietnam: Country and People — a photo series of local life and landscapes
All events are free of charge. The festival is open daily from 10:00 to 21:00 on Manezhnaya Square.
